We are excited to announce the release of Wyn Enterprise 5.0! This release includes report and dashboard improvements, scheduling enhancements, new diagnostic and monitoring tools, and support for new data sources.

In this article, we will discuss the new data sources that are supported in Wyn Enterprise.  

You can access the new data sources in the “Document Type” Tab in the Resource Portal.

New Wyn Data Sources Include:

• ElasticSearch
• GreenPlum
• Hive
• Spark SQL
• SAP Hana

New Data Sources

ElasticSearch

Elasticsearch (ES) is an open-source, distributed, RESTful full-text search engine built on Lucene. ES is a distributed document database, in which each field can be indexed, and the data in each field can be searched.   

You will need to set up a separate driver on your system to use this driver.

GreenPlum

Greenplum is a massively parallel processing (MPP) database that is designed to handle large-scale data warehouses and business intelligence workloads.

Spark SQL

Spark SQL lets you query structured data as a distributed dataset with integrated APIs. This will provide more information about the structure of your data and the calculations being performed.

Hive

Wyn Enterprise provides support for the Hive data provider.  Hive is a data warehouse software that is capable of reading, writing, and handling large datasets in storage using SQL. 

To use this data provider, you will need to install a separate driver onto your system.

SAP Hana

SAP Hana is an in-memory database that speeds data-driven, real-time decisions and actions. Its primary role is to store and retrieve data requested by applications. SAP Hana is for database management, advanced analytical processing, and application development.

Wyn Enterprise v5.0

As data continues to grow, it becomes harder to manage. We want to provide a business intelligence tool that can accommodate data sources that handle large amounts of data. In addition, we also want to support data connectors for your individual use-cases. 

ElasticSearch, Greenplum, Hive, Spark SQL, and SAP Hana were the top requested data sources from our users this past year! We are planning to add more compatible data providers in the future based on what you need to build your ideal BI Solution.
