What's New in wynReports v9.1

wynReports v9.1 focuses on two things customers ask for most: getting reports out the door in more flexible ways, and embedding the designer and viewer cleanly inside a host application. Report Bursting, the parameter panel, and the integration options each take their next step in v9.1.

Alongside the distribution and embedding work, the designer gains more flexibility in how reports source and present data, and the viewer loads large parameter lists faster. The through-line is control: more control over how reports are delivered, how they look when embedded, and what data they draw on.

What’s New at a Glance

  • More flexible Report Bursting: bundle multiple documents into one task and burst to external storage.
  • A fully customizable parameter panel: style fonts, buttons, colors, and hover behavior to match your branding.
  • Report Designer enhancements: mix Semantic Data Models and shared datasets, show value and label, and search shared images.
  • Tighter embedding control: customize toolbars, menus, error messages, and save dialogs via DIV and URL.
  • Customer-requested updates: timezone-aware scheduled parameters and faster parameter loading.

More Flexible Report Bursting

A single Report Bursting task can now include multiple documents, so a recipient gets one email with everything rather than several separate messages. Burst output can also be delivered to external storage as shared files, which covers large files that are too big to email and host applications where email is not an option at all.

Together these cover bursting use cases that previously needed workarounds, and they make scheduled distribution fit more cleanly into how teams actually share documents.

A Fully Customizable Parameter Panel

The parameter panel can now be styled end to end. You get control over styling, fonts, buttons, colors, hover behavior, and formatting for most controls, which means the parameter inputs your users interact with can match the look and feel of the host application around them. For embedded reporting, that branding consistency matters, and v9.1 makes it straightforward.

Report Designer Enhancements

A single report can now use Semantic Model based datasets alongside other shared datasets, so business users can blend ad-hoc queries with governed stock queries in the same report. Parameters can show both the Value and the Label to end users, which makes selections clearer, and the image control can search shared images when you set the image source, so finding the right asset is quicker. All these updates improve the overall design experience for the business user without a steep learning curve.

Tighter Embedding and Integration

Through DIV integration, you can now customize error messages and the save dialog’s comment options, and add new buttons to the menu bar in the Report Viewer. Through URL integration, you can customize the Designer and Viewer toolbars to show or hide specific buttons. The net effect is a tighter fit between Wyn reports and the host application they live in.

Timezone-Aware Scheduled Parameters

Relative date based parameters in scheduled tasks now support timezone options, so a scheduled report resolves dates against the right timezone rather than a single fixed one. For teams that run scheduled distribution across regions, that removes a common source of confusion.

Faster Parameter Loading

Large parameter dropdown lists now load faster in the Viewer, so reports with long selection lists open more quickly for end users.

Deliver Reports Your Way with wynReports v9.1

wynReports v9.1 gives you more flexible delivery, a parameter panel you can brand, and tighter control over how reports embed in your own application. Whether you are bursting operational reports to thousands of recipients or embedding a viewer in a customer-facing app, this release puts more of that control in your hands.

“Writing reports are easy to use as well as very flexible to meet customers' needs.”
Love the flexibility of creating reports from simple to very complicated. I have yet to find something that Wyn Enterprise hasn't been able to support. We also use Wyn Enterprise for a lot of our internal documents as well that are on a monthly scheduler to automatically execute.

“Great reporting platform and support team”
The reporting platform continues to evolve and keep up with changes in technology; the support team is solid and responds quickly, and the product team listens and responds to feedback and product needs. Our software solution requires a flexible reporting platform that allows users to run canned reports and build their own and this is a pretty good fit.
